We don't want your data. We can't see your data.

1. Our Promise

We built Sal because we believe artificial intelligence belongs to you—on your own hardware, under your total control. Your personal data never leaves your Mac. We do not run a server to process your conversations. We do not want your data, we cannot see your data, and we cannot sell your data.

2. What Sal Processes Locally

Because Sal operates entirely offline using your Mac's Apple Silicon, all processing happens locally.

Conversations & Memories: Your chat history is saved in a local database on your hard drive.
Documents & Files: When you drag a file into Sal, she reads it directly from your disk and processes the text in your system's memory.
Screenshots: When you command Sal to look at your screen, the temporary capture is processed locally by the vision model and immediately discarded. It is never uploaded to any cloud.

3. Apple iCloud Synchronization

If you install Sal on a second Mac, your conversation history syncs seamlessly between them using Apple's native Core Data architecture.

We do not build or manage the servers for this sync. Sal securely uses your personal, encrypted iCloud account. This synchronization is governed end-to-end by Apple's strict privacy policy, and HelloPartner.ai has exactly zero access to this data. Your data travels directly from your first Mac to your second Mac.

4. When Sal Uses the Internet

Sal is designed to operate on a desert island without Wi-Fi. The application will only use your internet connection for highly-restricted reasons:

License Verification: When you first install the app, Sal connects to our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) to verify your license key.
Web Search Requests: If you explicitly ask Sal to search the internet, she will securely ping DuckDuckGo to retrieve live search results and summarize them.
Software Updates: Sal periodically checks a simple, static file on our server to see if a new version is available for your Mac.

5. Telemetry and Analytics

We have taken a "Privacy Hard Line." Sal contains zero telemetry. We do not track how many times you open the app, what features you use, or how long your conversations are.

Because we collect no data, we do not receive automatic crash reports. If the application breaks, we rely entirely on you choosing to manually email us or join our Discord community to report the issue.

6. Complete Control

You own the hardware, the AI weights, and the database. If you choose to uninstall Sal and delete the local application folder, your entire conversation history and relationship with the assistant is securely, permanently erased. Because there is no "Sal Cloud," there is no account to delete or data retention request to file.
